Notice of AGM
ELACs Annual General Meeting will take place on May 5, 2012 at 1600 (4:00pm). The AGM will take place at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Centre (Formerly the Capri Hotel and Conference Centre) in Red Deer, Alberta.

Notice of Motion
The Executive Council of ELAC is considering a constitutional amendment to add to section 6.2 a clause 6.2.7- Communications Coordinator. A motion to establish this position in the constitution will be introduced at the 2012 AGM. The position will be filled at the 2013 AGM.
Note: The addition of this annually elected position will allow an individual to focus on a variety of functions, including membership communication, advocacy on issues of concern to English Language Arts teachers, and dissemination of relevant research.

We want YOU to become a member of the ELAC Provincial Council. Elections for the 2012/13 council will take place at the ELAC Conference Annual General Meeting in Red Deer, Alberta on May 5, 2012.
Nominations are now open for the following positions on the provincial council:

- Albert a Voices Editor
- Writing Contest Coordinator
- Conference Director-elect (conference 2014)
Candidates for ELAC elected executive positions are invited to complete the Candidate Information Template
for submission to the website, and inclusion in the print materials provided to members in attendance at our AGM and election. By submitting this template, you grant permission to post it on the public portion of the ELAC website and printing for the AGM.
Candidates are reminded that they must hold membership in ELAC at the time of the election, and maintain membership
throughout their term of office.
Please ensure that Barbara-Lynn Goodwin (
blgoodwin@teamwinner.net) receives your template by April 18, 2012 to ensure
adequate time for printing and posting. Submissions received after that date may not be posted or printed.
