Sponsored by the English Language Arts Council, the Celebrating Words writing contest looks forward to judging a new assortment of submissions from the coming School Year. 

ELAC welcomes original poetry and prose written by students and teachers in all public and separate schools in the province. Prizes are awarded in five categories: Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6, Grades 7-9, Grades 10-12 and a teachers’ category.

A panel of impartial judges in a blind review process assesses the entries. Winners are contacted by mail. Contest winners have their work published in Celebrating Words at the end of the school year and will be invited to post their writing on the ELAC Website.

At the conclusion of the contest, a copy of the Celebrating Words anthology is mailed to members by mid-November.
